Bio 

Simply put, I am a story-teller. I believe in working hard to craft the strongest messaging, develop out-of-sight campaigns, and utilize strategic thinking that results in getting people talking.

With over a decade of strategic communication experience spanning across B2B (business to business), B2C (business to consumer), crisis communications, media relations, social media, influencer engagement, experiential engagement and leading c-suite communications Melody R. Cowan is indeed a jack of all trades.

Prior to Federal Student Aid (FSA), Melody served as a senior public relations manager for Lowe’s Home Improvement leading CSR (corporate social responsibility) communication efforts in Mooresville, North Carolina. Through Melody’s efforts, she secured media coverage in top national outlets including, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Bloomberg, Today Show, CNN, Huffington Post, and MSNBC.

Melody lives in Atlanta, GA. and holds a Master of Arts degree in Public Relations and Advertising from DePaul University, and a Bachelor of Arts in African-American Studies from Temple University. Mrs. Cowan is a native of Kansas City, MO and enjoys going to church, singing, traveling, trying new restaurants, playing tennis, and spending time with her husband (Damion Cowan).
